Anyway, this particular story is pre-established relationship. Chris and Fluttershy’s initial meeting that’s alluded to in the fic is based on this thread.
Summary: N/A
"Fluttershy!" Chris called, spotting her at the park entrance. "Glad you could make it!"
She smiled shyly, greeting him with a small wave of her fingers. “H-Hi, Chris.”
He grinned as he hurried over to her, just barely able to contain his excitement that she had come. Not that he doubted she would, but he’d been looking forward to this afternoon for a while.
He had met the shy young woman some time ago, and it had been an instant connection with the zoo worker, as they bonded over a mutual appreciation and devotion to wildlife. Since that day he spent whatever time he could with her, whenever he wasn’t away on a Creature Adventure, having fun hanging out and just getting to know her.
His frequent absences during their downtime didn’t go unnoticed by the crew, however. And when they had asked about where he often hurried off to, Chris had been more than happy to talk about the friend he had made. Eventually they had asked to meet her, and Chris was more than willing to introduce her to them.
It took a bit of convincing Fluttershy to come by the Tortuga, but he knew she would agree; she had mentioned once that he and Martin were a bit of an inspiration to her, so he knew that she would want to meet his brother as well.
Now that she was here, everything was falling right into place. She would get to meet someone she admired, and the crew would meet this new friend that he enjoyed getting to spend time with.
Placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, Chris started leading her further into the park. “C’mon, the Tortuga’s down this way.”
She walked with him, though with a certain hesitancy that he couldn’t help but feel. It was enough for him to pause and glance at her curiously. “What’s up?” he asked.
Fluttershy fidgeted a little, her hands playing with the tips of her hair. “A-Are…you sure it’s a good idea for me to…to meet them?” Her voice was so soft, he almost didn’t hear the question.
"Of course," he replied, confused why it wouldn’t be. "The others have been looking forward to meeting you."
"B-But…when they do…wh-what if they…they don’t…?" She hesitated again, unable to finish her question as she glanced down at her feet.
Finally understanding, he smiled softly. “Hey…” he said, drawing her attention back up to him. “They’re gonna love you, all right? And I’ll be right there with you. You’ve got nothing to worry about. Okay?”
She blushed faintly, but managed a small smile. “O-Okay…”
His smile stretched to a grin, and he offered his hand to her, which she took after a moment. Then he led her down the path to where the Tortuga was parked.
As they approached the turtle ship, Chris could see his brother and the crew waiting for them in front of the base. Fluttershy seemed to notice them as well, judging by the way she suddenly tensed slightly.
So he gave her hand a gentle, reassuring squeeze. “I’m right here,” he reminded her with a whisper.
She didn’t say anything, but the smile she gave him was answer enough.
And as they drew closer to the crew, finally catching their attention, he kept his hand in hers all the while as he turned to the others with a smile.
"Guys, there’s someone I want you to meet…"
